TALC Unit Correspondence and Other Material 1945-1970 ; 1960-1970.

This series comprises records generated or retained by the Rev. Fredrick A. Schiotz in his capacity as president of The American Lutheran Church (TALC). Records date from 1945-1970, but the bulk are from 1960-1970. The material is primarily typewritten business correspondence, but other records types exist as well. These include handwritten correspondence, studies, reports, pamphlets, brochures, news clippings, and news releases. Records represent President Schiotz's communication with the various offices and program units that comprised TALC during his tenure as president. Most of the records comprise his correspondence that pertained to the work of each unit. Within each unit's correspondence there are letters and memoranda to persons who worked in that unit, as well as letters to and from TALC congregation members for which the subject matter of the correspondence pertains to the work of a particular TALC unit. The box marked "TALC Units Miscellaneous" includes records for TALC units for which there was not a substantial amount of material.
